Cruise the World
Jon's goal: "I came to OCSC knowing that I wanted to try the “cruising lifestyle”, sailing from place to place around the world. I’d done some sailing before but realized that nothing was more important than getting the skills so that I could head down the coast and offshore with confidence. I went through all of the “learn to skipper” courses, and got experience out on the Bay by chartering as much as I could. In the meantime, I got my navigation skills in order by taking Coastal Navigation. Then after discussing my goals with the OCSC team, we determined that I was ready to take the Coastal Passagemaking Course. I have my sights set on Celestial Navigation as well as the Offshore Passagemaking Course, so when I finally buy my boat, I’ll be ready to head out of the Golden Gate and turn left!”
