Nina Bohlen

OCSC instructor - Nina Bohlen

Nina learned to sail when she was a young girl while spending her summers on a small island off the coast of Maine. She sailed and raced a variety of boats, including a 17-foot, gaff-rigged, wooden North Haven Dinghy (the oldest one-design sailing boat in the U.S.). She fell in love with sailing, and eventually competed in the Junior New England Regionals. In college, she joined the Stanford Varsity Sailing Team, where she raced Lasers and Flying Juniors throughout California and competed in the Women's Collegiate Nationals. Nina has also raced in the Potomac River, the Chesapeake Bay and San Francisco Bay. She has cruised on sailboats from Connecticut to Maine, in the Penobscot Bay and in the British Virgin Islands. On dry land, Nina runs Strategic Grantmaking, a consulting business for nonprofit organizations and foundations.
